Singapore Bans Shipments Coming From Asian Countries

Singapore Bans Shipments
Singapore banning the entry of ships coming from the Asian countries because of the Covid-19 cases increasing at a rapid speed. India is in a major crisis and recently 4 workers have been tested positive on the Yantian port. The positive cases have been shifted to a hospital and are in stable condition now. According to the USA’s report, 80% of the world’s trade is dependent on shipping. Shipping lines have already taken a lot of losses as in March 2021 there was a blockage on the Suez Canal in Egypt, which also affected the shipping lines and disturbed the trading routes.

Strict measurements are taken by the Chinese, all the sites are getting disinfected turn by turn. Also on the other hand GERDA MAERSK was stopped and was forced to return to the port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia .Where the world was getting back to normal and the number of Cocid-19 cases was decreasing, but the situation got out of hand and India broke the record of registering 400,000 covid cases in a single day. Singapore decided to forbid crew changes for seafarers who have recent travel history with India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The steps are taken to prevent this is that all the shipping lines are planning to get their crew vaccinated as soon as possible. The current time for the importers and exporters is getting tough as the freights are booming and the prices of the goods are also increasing, survival in the market is getting nearly impossible.
